Since getting drafted No. 27 overall in the 2017 NBA Draft, Kyle Kuzma has bought in to life as a Laker. Some might even say a little too much.
Earler this year, the 22-year-old wore a Nick Van Exel throwback jersey, which earned him props from LeBron James before they were teammates.
The Showtime Lakers jerseys are among the most popular jerseys in NBA history, if not the most popular. However, Kuzma doesn’t just want to wear the iconic jerseys with street clothes, he’s hoping the Lakers can play meaningful games in them soon.
The Lakers last wore the Showtime throwbacks during the 2016-17 season. Instead of bringing them back for another year, the team opted to go even further back in Lakers history with the baby blue Minneapolis jerseys last year.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the Lakers are planning on having throwback threads this year. According to Conrad Burry of sportslogos.net, only seven teams will have the option of a classic jersey next season: the Atlanta Hawks, the Charlotte Hornets, the Golden State Warriors, the Indiana Pacers, the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Orlando Magic and the Utah Jazz.
